ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) announced on Monday that the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) would be sent to Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail.

Chairman PTI's request to be moved from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail was heard by Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Amir Farooq.

The Chief Justice questioned, "Why is the former prime minister being held in Attock Jail, and not being transferred to Adiala Jail?" "The status of his [C

hairman PTI] sentence has changed, and he is currently under trial, according to which he should be kept in Adiala Jail with other undertrial prisoners," the statement continued.

Adiala Jail was the original court order in the Toshakhana case, according to additional Attorney General Munawar Iqbal.

As a result of the court order, the additional Attorney General replied that the Chairman PTI has been detained in connection with the cipher case and is being held in Attock Jail.

After which the Chief Justice – in his remarks – ordered to shift the former prime minister to Adiala Jail.
