Five Foreign Nationals Perish in Suicide Attack in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

SHANGLA: A suicide bombing along the Karakoram Highway in Bisham has claimed the lives of five foreign nationals and one local citizen.

The District Inspector General (DIG) of Malakand informed the media that a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of foreign nationals traveling from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu, Shangla, by ramming an explosives-laden vehicle into it.

Initial reports indicate that the convoy, including a passenger vehicle en route from Islamabad to Dasu Dam

, was carrying five foreigners and a driver, all of whom tragically lost their lives in the attack.

Following the explosion, the vehicle veered off the road and came to a stop at a distance.

In response to the incident, teams from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) in Peshawar were swiftly dispatched to the scene by authorities.

Rescue officials promptly transported the bodies and injured from the blast to the nearest hospital for urgent medical attention.

Meanwhile, the federal government has strongly condemned this act of terrorism and pledged to take all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators and their accomplices to justice.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that such cowardly acts cannot weaken the resolve of the Pakistani nation in the fight against terrorism.

Pakistan and China, described as close friends and iron brothers, remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.

Separately, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that recent incidents of terrorism in Pakistan, including the one in Bisham, aimed at destabilizing internal security, were condemned unequivocally. The nation stands in solidarity with its Chinese allies against terrorism.

Despite such acts, Pakistan remains steadfast in its resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country with the support of its resilient nation and its strong ally, China.
