Pervaiz Elahi's Health Deteriorates in Adiala Jail, Rushed to PIMS for Medical Attention

ISLAMABAD: Pervaiz Elahi, the former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, has been hurried to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) due to a decline in his health while in Adiala jail, as reported by ARY News citing insider sources.

Sources indicate that Islamabad police swiftly transferred him to PIMS as his health deteriorated unexpectedly. Pervaiz Elahi is scheduled for a comprehensive examination at PIMS hospital.

an Tehreek-e-Insaf President Pervaiz Elahi had suffered a bone fracture after slipping in the washroom of Adiala jail.

During a court hearing on a case concerning alleged illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly, the deputy superintendent of Adiala jail presented Elahi's medical report. He informed the court that Elahi had slipped in the washroom on March 17, sustaining a minor fracture.

Subsequently, Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta postponed the indictment against the PTI leader and adjourned the hearing until the following month.

Pervaiz Elahi is among numerous PTI leaders and supporters apprehended as part of the crackdown on PTI leadership following the violent unrest in the country after the initial arrest of Imran Khan on May 9.

It's noteworthy that Elahi has faced multiple arrests since June 1 in various cases.
