A Team Of IMF Tax Specialists Arrives In Pakistan

ISLAMABAD The International Monetary Fund (IMF) sent a team to Pakistan on Monday to discuss ways to improve tax collection and the tax net.

According to sources, the delegation of technical specialists will confer for approximately a week with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding the tax policy.

According to reports, the delegation will recommend actions to the FBR for changes to the tax code. According to reports, " introducing changes in the tax policy aime

Sources claim that the FBR and IMF specialists will work together to create the fundamental framework needed to present the plan to retailers.

" The tax net will be expanded by one million, bringing the total number of taxpayers to six million," according to sources.

Sources state that "the FBR and the IMF technical team will jointly prepare amendments to the tax policy, which will come into force by the next budget." It was also discovered that the transfer of the loan tranche will not be impacted by the tax net negotiations.
