During the Asian Games 2023, India defeated Pakistan in hockey

In the current Asian Games 2023 hockey competition, India's bitter rivals thrashed Pakistan 10-2 on Saturday.

Thanks to one apiece from Harmanpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh, India jumped out to a commanding 2-0 lead against Pakistan in the opening quarter of the game.

In the second quarter, the men in blue quadrupled their advantage and took total control of the eagerly awaited game.

In the third quarter, Pakistan managed to score two points to retaliate, but

it was not enough as India scored three more points to increase their lead.

India then had yet another impressive quarter, adding three more in the fourth to end up with a 10-2 victory—one of their biggest against Pakistan.

With four goals, Harmanpreet Singh led the way for India, followed by Varun Kumar with two, and Mandeep Singh, Sumit, Shamsher Singh, and Lalit Kumar Upadhyay with one apiece.

Waheed Rana Ashraf and Muhammad Sufyan Khan may both score one for Pakistan.

Pakistan will now attempt to advance to the Asian Games 2023 semifinals by facing Japan on October 2.
